On October 24-25, 2019, the „Przestrzenie przekładu 5” conference organized by the Institute of East Slavonic Philology took place at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Silesia. This conference was an opportunity to meet translators from various scientific centers. For two days, more than 50 speeches were held not only by experienced academics, but also young science adepts, followed by interesting discussions, often in an interdisciplinary group. The „Translation spaces” conference was an opportunity to meet tradologists representing numerous centers in Poland and abroad presenting their research results taking into account various methodological approaches. The subject of reflection were both general issues and specific phenomena analyzed on the basis of translations of literary and specialist texts.
The interdisciplinary nature of the discussion shows how important cooperation between researchers representing not only different languages, but also different areas of interest. It allows capturing the multi-faceted and thematic diversity characteristic of translation studies, as well as outlining its development directions.
