Annual conference of the Polish Society of Applied Linguistics

On 5-6 April 2019, the 28. conference of the Polish Society of Applied Linguistics took place at the Institute of Foreign Languages at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. Almost 70 speakers representing Polish research centers attended the conference. They presented papers on glottodidactics, translation, general communicology, specialist communication, cognitive linguistics and lexicography.

The conference was opened by prof. Sambor Grucza, chairman of the Polish Association of Applied Linguistics. The ILCRC Members participated actively in the conference. Dr Marta Małachowicz moderated one of the panels on glottodidactics, while dr hab. Joanna Osiejewicz – one of the panels on translation. Dr Anna Bonek held a speech „A few comments on the subject of the study of legislative translatorics”. Dr hab. Joanna Osiejewicz gave a speech „Linguistic analysis of Kurt Cobain’s suicide note – between cognition and court truth”.

The conference was accompanied by an unforgettable concert of the Jazz Trio composed of: Konstanty Wileński (piano) Krzysztof Błaszkiewicz (double bass) and Janusz Młynarczyk (drums). The evening ended with a gala dinner at the Zielinski Palace.
